1:1 Coaching Agreement
This agreement
This agreement is between you and OwnIt Advisory, and it covers the one-to-one coaching work we do together. The version that applies to you is the one in force on the date you book and pay. Please read it before you pay, and keep a copy.
What you are buying
You are buying financial coaching and education, delivered through three one-to-one sessions and the supporting materials that go with them.
Across those sessions we will:
- Bring your full financial position together in one place so you can see it.
- Look at the beliefs and habits sitting underneath your financial decisions.
- Put practical systems in place for what comes in, what goes out and what you keep.
- Work out what you need for the future, using a model you can run again yourself.
- Help you understand fees, products and how the market works, so that you can make your own decisions and evaluate anyone who advises you.
You will leave with your own copy of the workbook and a written summary of the actions you have chosen.
What is not included
OwnIt Advisory does not provide regulated financial advice, and is not an authorised investment intermediary.
That means this service does not include, and you should not treat it as including:
- A recommendation to buy, sell, switch or hold any particular financial product, investment, pension or policy.
- Arranging, applying for or setting up any product on your behalf.
- Holding, managing, transferring or having any access to your money.
- Tax advice, legal advice, or a formal financial plan of the kind produced by an authorised adviser.
Before you act on anything involving a regulated product, we recommend you take advice from an adviser authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland. You can check whether a firm is authorised on the Central Bank's register.
How we are paid
You are the only person who pays us for this work. We receive no commission, referral fee, introducer fee or any other payment from any bank, broker, insurer, fund manager or product provider, at any time.
Where we point you towards firms or advisers who can help you put something in place, we do so on the same basis for every client, we are not ranking them, and we receive nothing for the introduction.
Figures, models and projections
Any figures, projections or illustrations we produce together are based on the information and the assumptions you provide. They show what could happen if those assumptions hold. They are not forecasts, valuations, guarantees or predictions, and they should not be relied on as such.
Investment returns, inflation, interest rates, tax rates and tax rules all change, and figures can go out of date quickly. Assumptions that look reasonable today may not hold. You are welcome to run the model again at any time with different assumptions, and we would encourage you to.
Because these variables are outside anyone's control, we do not guarantee any specific outcome, including investment returns, savings targets, pension values, retirement income or tax results.
Your decisions
Every decision you make about your money is yours. We are here to help you think clearly and act with confidence, not to decide for you.
You are responsible for giving us accurate and complete information about your finances and circumstances. The work we do together can only be as good as the information it is based on.
Our responsibility to you
We will carry out this work with reasonable care and skill, and we will tell you honestly when something falls outside what we do.
Fees and payment
The fee for the programme is agreed with you before you book and is payable in advance. VAT applies at the prevailing rate. Your place is confirmed once payment is received.
Your right to change your mind
Because you are booking at a distance, by email or online, you have a legal right to cancel this agreement within 14 days, starting the day after the agreement is concluded. You do not need to give a reason.
To cancel, email susan@ownitadvisory.com within that period and say clearly that you are cancelling. We will acknowledge your cancellation and refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method you used.
If you want to start straight away. If your first session falls inside the 14-day period, you are asking us to begin during your cancellation period. If you then cancel before the programme is complete, we will refund you less a proportionate amount for the sessions already delivered. Once all three sessions are complete, the service has been fully performed and the right to cancel no longer applies.
Rescheduling and missed sessions
Please give us at least 48 hours' notice if you need to move a session, and we will do our best to find another time.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, or do not attend, we may have to treat that session as used, because the time has been held for you. We will take your circumstances into account and will not apply this rigidly.
If you need to stop before all three sessions are complete, any unused sessions stay in credit for 12 months and you can pick them up whenever you are ready.
If we need to move or postpone a session, we will tell you as soon as we can and find a time that works for you.
Your materials
The workbook, templates and written summaries you receive are yours to keep and use for your own purposes, for as long as you like. They remain our copyright, so please do not share, resell or publish them.
Your information
We keep what you share with us confidential, and we handle it in line with our Privacy Policy. The only exceptions are where you ask us to share something, or where we are required to disclose it by law.
If you are unhappy
Please tell us. Email susan@ownitadvisory.com and we will come back to you within five working days and do our best to put it right.
Because we are not a regulated financial services provider, complaints about this service do not fall to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. You retain all of your rights under Irish consumer law, and you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission for information about those rights.
Changes to this agreement
We may update these terms from time to time. Any change applies to bookings made after the change, not to work already agreed with you.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
